Prep Tips

The key to cooking wild boar is low heat, added moisture & basting, and frequent turning. Wild boar meat is lean. Heat penetrates lean meat more easily, as fat acts as an insulator. Wild boar meat requires lower heat and added moisture during the cooking process, therefore, baste the meat often and turn it frequently to prevent drying and scorching. We suggest you treat it more as a game meat, being careful not to overcook.
